In the context of the planned events for the networking and sharing knowledge, experiences and projects (Action D.2), on September 30th 2019 at the ISPRA headquarter in Rome, Life SEPOSSO participated to the First conference Life SeaForest – LIFE17 CMM/IT/00012.
The meeting aimed at presenting the project’s activities LifeSeaForest produced by different partners to illustrate the obtained results, with the scientific contributes of various experts on Posidonia oceanica management.
Then, the scientific objectives and results achieved to date by Interreg GIREPAM projects (Integrated Management of Ecological Networks through Marine Parks and Areas), Life BLUE NATURA and Life SEPOSSO were presented.
During the meeting for potential for a strong synergy came out between the projects dealing with the Posidonia oceanica habitat protection, both in terms of evaluation of ecosystem services and Blue Carbon market. The final round table was an opportunity to discuss and explore the different approaches for the correct management of Posidonia meadows as an opportunity for the environment and the community and to gather new ideas for the networking between the various projects.
