In the frame of the “6th Mediterranean Symposium on Marine Vegetation”, held in Antalya (Turkey) from 14 to 15 January 2019, Dr. Tomasello Agostino, Drs. Pirrotta Maria, and Dr. Calvo Sebastiano (University of Palermo) presented a communication on the “Construction underwater landscape by using Posidonia oceanica transplanting combined with innovative artificial reefs”. The results of the study, partly analyzed in the context of LIFE SEPOSSO, suggest that Posidonia oceanica can be successfully implanted even on hard substrates, opening new perspectives for the restoration of damaged grasslands. During both the oral communication and in the subsequent “Round table on restoration activities examples in the Mediterranean Sea”, moderated by Agostino Tomasello, the activities of the LIFE SEPOSSO project were presented and debated.
