As part of the events planned for the communication and awareness of citizenship (Action D.1) and in order to guarantee the replicability of its products (Action B4), on November 28, 2019 the Life SEPOSSO project presented the SEPOSSO Educational Kit.

The Kit is a didactic tool for primary and secondary school students of 1st grade, designed to introduce children to the Posidonia oceanica meadows, an exclusive habitat of the Mediterranean, extremely precious but, unfortunately, at risk. The Kit is the result of the collection of the didactic experiences gained by the Partners of the Life SEPOSSO project during the various meetings held with the children of different institutes along the Italy in 2018-2019: we collected the essential information to communicate about the biology of Posidonia oceanica and the ecology of the seagrass meadows. We have also made available the materials that we ourselves used for the games proposed during the meetings, to learn about the importance of Posidonia meadows and its inhabitants while having fun.

The Educational Kit was promoted by contacting directly:

  • 7722 schools
  • 229 nautical clubs
  • 30 Marine Protected Areas
  • 64 museums
  • 11 aquaries
  • 8 National Parks

By means of the games and the information provided, the Educational Kit aims to transfer to the young citizens awareness about the importance of protecting these precious habitats.

The Educational Kit can be downloaded and used freely from here: http://lifeseposso.eu/?page_id=8814

NOTE: the Educational Kit is in Italian only
