life SEPOSSO has participated with its stand, game and information desks at the LABORATORIES UNDER THE STARS – Friday 28 September 2018, from 18:00 to 23:00 in the context of ScienzaInsieme.

ISPRA meets the citizens in the company of ISPRA researchers of the ISPRA National Center of the Laboratories of Castel Romano, Via di Castel Romano, 100 – 00128 ROME

On the occasion of the Science Week and the European Researchers’ Night, with the scientific project ScienzaInsieme, ISPRA organized an event with the aim to involve citizens  in getting to know more closely the activities of the National Laboratory Center of Castel Romano. ScienzaInsieme comes from the idea to unify the main Italian research Institutes (including CNR, INGV, ENEA, ASI) and some Universities to promote scientific dissemination.

The ISPRA laboratories carry out research and experimentation activities to preserve and protect water soil, subsoil, biodiversity and fauna and integrating physical, chemical, biological, geological and engineering skills( http://www.isprambiente.gov.it/it/CN-LAB).

For the entire evening, led by ISPRA researchers and technicians, about  400 people visited the laboratories, with the opportunity to view the different analysis procedures and technological equipment and interact with the researchers to talk about the different activities. They spoke also  about topics related to Posidonia oceanica, alien species and the various activities of the laboratories in the areas of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Ecotoxicology and Metrology were discussed.

The meeting in the night  was organized with an approach that combines science and communication; in this way it was possible to offer to a vast audience the opportunity to experience science alongside those who do it: in the laboratories, and during the many activities designed for children, families and schools to disseminate information, news, videos on the main activities that ISPRA carries out at the service of citizens and the environment.
