The activities of dissemination and dissemination are continuing in our study sites for Life SEPOSSO (Action D.1). In Ischia (NA), last 19 September ISPRA researchers and project partners met about 120 young people of the “Giovanni Scotti” middle school in Ischia (NA). During the meeting, the researchers explained the importance of the grasslands of Posidonia oceanica with the support of short educational films. The setting up of a small marine biology laboratory allowed children to observe the plant and the organisms that live between its rhizomes and leaves. Through the story of an adventure of the mascots Posi and Donia, narrated in the comic “Discovering the Posidonia oceanica”, they have discovered the hidden world that populates this ecosystem.
During the meeting, thanks to the technological support provided by the OTS of the Jacques Cousteau Association, it was carried out a live video/audio connection with the divers immersing themselves on the prairie.
The participants had the chance to experience the emotion of watching live all the phases of the dive, following the voice of the divers and interacting with them, asking questions and seeing LIVE the Posidonia oceanica prairie and its inhabitants. The day was concluded with group games designed to learn to know and respect the wonders of the sea while having fun, and with the distribution of gadgets for children (frisbee in biodegradable coloring material, Posi and Donia comics).

Let’s play to simulate a prairie and its biodiversity and see what happens when it causes damage
