We begun the dissemination activities at our study sites for the Life SEPOSSO project (Action D.1).
As part of the events scheduled at Civitavecchia between June 25th and 30th, two events were held to meet with the public:
- Friday 29 June, 17:00 -20: 00, in Piazza della Vita – Civitavecchia (RM)
- Saturday 30th June, 11.00am-4.00pm, in the locality of Castello di Santa Severa – Santa Marinella (RM)
In both initiatives, ISPRA technicians and researchers and project partners, took contact with the citizens with an information stand set up outdoors. Citizens have been entertained by disseminating essential information on the Natura 2000 network, on the importance of Posidonia oceanica habitat, on ecosystem services and the benefits produced by the habitat on the marine-coastal ecosystem and the need for protection measures, which also include the behavior of individual citizens. The communication activities were supported by showing the promotional films made specifically for the project and distributing the information products created as part of the Life SEPOSSO project.
In addition, the gadgets of the project were distributed (pens, frisbee in biodegradable material, key rings, beach towels, pieces for cleaning lenses) entertaining the audience with educational games designed for both adults and children. Particular attention was given to the little ones, who were introduced to the comics story “Discovering the Posidonia oceanica meadows” conceived and created within the project, where an adventure of Posi and Donia (the mascots of the project) is depicted.
All activities were aimed at stimulating the audience to share their experience, encouraging them to disseminate the activities through photos and clips on the social networks.
