Dissemination and divulgation activities continue in our study sites for the Life SEPOSSO project (Action D.1). As part of the events scheduled, between 9 and 12 October, a meeting was held with the public on Wednesday 10 October, in Piombino (Livorno)<\/p>\n

During the initiative, ISPRA technicians and researchers, together with the project partners\u00a0Dip. of Earth and Sea Science of the Palermo University o, CNR-IAMC, ARPA Toscana and Northern Tyrrhenian Sea System Authority<\/strong>, have interacted to citizenship \u00a0with information stand set up outdoors. Informal meetings with citizens were an opportunity to disseminate essential information on the importance of habitat to\u00a0Posidonia oceanica<\/em>, on ecosystem services and the benefits produced by the habitat on the marine-coastal ecosystem. Communication activities were supported by distributing information products produced as part of the Life SEPOSSO project.<\/p>\n

The gadgets of the project were distributed to all those present, such as educational games designed for both adults and children. Particular attention was given to the little ones, that received as a gift the comic book \u201cDiscovering the\u00a0Posidonia oceanica<\/em>\u201d with the story of the\u00a0adventures of Posi and Donia<\/strong>\u00a0(the mascots of SEPOSSO), conceived and realized within the project. Moreover, childrens were enertained with group games, such as crosswords, memory and cards created by researchers to learn the respect of the wonders of the sea by having fun at the same time.<\/p>\n

The activities aimed to stimulate the involvement of the people and sharing their experiences, encouraging them to disseminate the activities of which they were protagonists through photos and videos and to share them on social networks. The meetings were an important stimulus also for the networks developed with representatives of local actors<\/strong>, such as organizations, associations, teachers of middle and high schools.<\/p>\n

During the day, it was settled in front of the Passenger Terminal of the Maritime Station of Piombino, the notice board describing the\u00a0Posidonia oceanica<\/em>\u00a0transplant carried out in 2014 in the Gulf of Follonica<\/p>\n
