Last 5 march 2019 at the MACRO Museum, Via Nizza 138, Rome, the meeting “Art in Waste”<\/strong> was held, organized by the RiArtEco Artistic Movement between ISPRA artists and researchers related to LifeSEPOSSO, INDICIT Project and authors of the book Deep Colors of Mediterranean for a debate on the relationships between art, research and nature conservation. also through the recovery of waste materials and waste, which threaten ecosystems, and their transformation into artistic products. The Artistic Movement proposes a new concept of social art thanks to the cooperation between artistic and scientific methodology able to involve the public in a visual, tactile and sensorial experience about environmental protection.<\/p>\n

Life SEPOSSO presented a contribution on ecosystem functions and services provided by marine vegetated habitats. The awareness of the importance of these habitats is generally scarce among the citizens, but it is essential for a thougthful decision-making processes and a correct governance, in which the public must be involved, as required by the Aarhus Convention<\/strong>. During the works of the meeting, some invited artists performed the realization of artworks inspired to the themes presented by the contributors (posidonia, sea turtles, marine litter, environments and deep Mediterranean colors). Among the participants, the organizing committee Marco Pasqualin, Aldo Celle and Silvia Filippi, the scientific contributions of Dott.ssa Michela Angiolillo (ISPRA), Dott. Marco Pisapia (ISPRA), Dott. Marco Matiddi (ISPRA), Dott.ssa Cecilia Silvestri (ISPRA) Dr. Daniele Biscontini (Emersum Siavs), Dr. Barbara La Porta (ISPRA, Dott.ssa Elena Maria Gubetti (Ass.Ambiente Municipality of Cerveteri), Dott. Corrado Battisti (Lecturer at Roma Tre University and Oasi Referent of Torre Flavia). Artistic works made by: Andrea Puca, Benedetta Iandolo, Sonia Vecchio, Sara Contardi<\/p>\n
